What do I need to bring to my first class?
You will need a basic sewing kit, including a good pair of fabric scissors, needles, pins, sewing threads, embroidery scissors, tape measure, and if you like, some fabric you would like to use in your first project. Any printed woven cotton pieces, remnants or ‘Fat Quarters’ are useful
Do I need to bring my own sewing machine?
No, you don’t need to bring your own machine. Machines are provided.
Do I need any experience?
No. The classes are tailored to suit learners of all abilities, including absolute beginners.
I have some experience. Will the class be suitable for me?
Yes. You can choose projects which are challenging enough for you to learn new skills.
I don't have my own sewing machine yet. Does this matter?
No. You may want to invest in your own machine once you have attended a few classes and have an idea what type of machine will suit you.
What kind of project should I choose to begin with?
Choose a project which challenges your existing level of knowledge and provides opportunities to develop a range of new skill e.g. if you have never inserted a zip, go for an outcome which includes a zip.
Can I continue on the next course after I finish the first?
Yes. Most people find that they need more than 6 weeks to build up enough confidence to go it alone, and some just keep attending every course, for the joy of sewing!
I am unable to book online. Is there another way to book?

I am moving house/changing working hours. Can I swap to a different class?
Yes, provided there is space at your preferred class
